Named “Little Great Wall of Kinmen.”
Introduction
Fengshang Patrol Division Fort in Jinhu Township was built as a defense stronghold in Ming dynasty by Jiangxia Marquess Zhou Dexing to defend against pirates. It is one of the five patrol division forts in Kinmen. The current appearance was an outcome of the 2013 renovation. The unique wall structure makes it a popular social media check-in spot. Many call it “Little Great Wall of Kinmen.” In Hongwu 20th year of Ming dynasty (1387), the founding emperor of Ming dynasty, Zhu Yuanzhang sent Jiangxia Marquess Zhou Dexing with military power to settle on the Fujian coast and build up coastal defense. In addition to Qianhusuo (the main military base), five patrol division forts were set up at Tianpu, Guanao, Chenkeng, Lieyu, and Fengshang. Fengshang Patrol Division Fort is also a great spot to watch sunset. After visiting this spot, you can also stop by the nearby crescent moon shaped beach “Gulian” and the Sanshao E-065 Stronghold.
