Good size room with extremely friendly & helpful ownerLocated on the western side of the main Kinmen Island, accessible by car and possibly public transport. The building had been fully refurbished both internally and externally to a high standard, while maintaining its traditional architectural style. The room we occupied is of very good size with a further mezzanine floor within, more than adequate to accommodate a family of four. Room is ensuite and extremely clean and tidy with basic amenities fully provided. Not to forget the room is fully air conditioned. In the common area a platter of local speciality dessert is served with famous taiwanese tea. Breakfast is served in a separate common area under a parasol. Breakfast generally consisted of cantonese porridge (廣東粥 - typical Kinmen breakfast) with chinese buns (饅頭) and fried breadstick (油條). On alternate day the owner will serve noodles (麵線) and sesame cake (燒餅) with buns and breadstick. To compliment there is of course the soya bean drink (豆漿). Being locals the owners (retired couple) are extremely knowledgeable with the area. They are happy to talk everything from the history of the island, places of interest to suggestions of places for a good meal. The B&B comes with free WiFi as well. The fridge located in the breakfast area serves self service chill drinks. The Jinshui elementary school which is now a museum on history of Kinmen and several authentic bungalows belonging to distinguished personnel are walking distance from the B&B. If you fancy a Bed and breakfast in a traditional chinese architectural styled accommodation with a localised feel, this definitely offer a good value for your money.
